Joint and Several Liability

Definition:

When two or more persons owe for the same debt. If payments are in default, the creditor can pursue either debtor for the full amount of the debt - they are both liable for the full amount. For example if one debtor does not have the ability to pay the debt, the creditor will collect the full amount from the other debtor.
